Mammotomy

A vacuum-assisted breast biopsy, or mammotomy for short, is a good procedure for lumps with an intermediate risk of being cancer. This technique is able to remove lumps less than 2cm in size and provide more complete information. Dr Tan has performed thousands of mammotomy procedures. She was part of experts on the teaching panel demonstrating and training other doctors in the use of the Mammotome.

A mammotomy is done under local anesthesia while the patient is awake, and Dr Tan, with her extensive experience, has developed techniques to minimize pain when the biopsy is performed. You may wish to look up the experience of other patients who have had this procedure done at MammoCare.
